Chapter 2201 Solo Expedition
Bloody Chariot used the formation.
The transfer was smooth. The Zeus academy elders didn't skimp on anything. Particularly, when Bloody Chariot himself brought the resources.
The transfer didn't even take much time.
It was just a few minutes. But to Bloody Chariot, it felt like an hour. He was excited.
After all, he has been through a lot.
He lived for a couple of centuries. Fought in many wars. Faced many people. Encountered many civilizations and even ended a few by himself. This is the first time in a long time that he has come across a new civilization.
One that is way too advanced than his own in many fields.
When he finally saw the light and the suction force disappeared around him, what greeted Bloody Chariot was infinite brightness at the first glance. He couldn't see anything. He felt like he was standing the light of a million stars all focused on him.
After a fleeting second, the brightness cleared out a bit and he saw what was in front of him.
That sight made his jaw drop.
Even with all the experience he never saw something like this. As for what is it... its crystals. In front of him, as far as he could see white glass like crystals could be seen. He couldn't see anything else. Not a single rock, a plant or anything else for that matter, could be seen.
The air was flowing. It was stagnant.
If not for his breathing, he wouldn't have noticed the air as well. The crystals are all sharp edged all of them just lay there. Their appearance reminded him of some plants that grow mostly in deserts. Multiple long crystals are originating from a single point, giving them a bush like appearance.
However, these crystal bushes are at least three feet tall. That is the smallest one he has seen as he walked around in awe.
The biggest he has seen is over ten feet tall.
The white crystals looked ethereal. He couldn't even describe that combination of crystalline sheen and the white color. It was just weird and beautiful. But that was not the thing that made him curious and intrigued.
Rather, it was the energy that was being emanated by these crystals.
It is indeed spiritual energy, but it is weird.
He believed the presence of the energy might elemental in nature. He could even sense faint traces of metal and earth, but there is some weird sense that he couldn't put his finger on.
But it attracted him a bit.
He wanted to see what it is and touched one of the crystal bushes nearby. He tried to apply some force and break it a bit. At first, he was surprised. Even though he didn't even use one percent of his strength, it should have been enough to destroy most metals at their natural state.
Unless they are reinforced by Divine energy, it would be hard defend against his base strength. He is just way too strong. But he felt like that one percent strength was not enough to break it. The crystal didn't budge.
He gradually increased his strength and finally some cracks showed up. It is strong. Stronger than he imagined.
Then another surprise awaited him as he broke the crystal apart. A metallic glistening liquid bled out of the stump where the crystal was broken. The liquid was thick, metallic and once again white. This time, Bloody Chariot managed to sense the earth and metal elements very clearly.
He touched the liquid curious and he felt a slight burning sensation on his finger.
It wasn't exactly a burning sensation caused by the fire or heat. Or it is because of the reaction between his own spiritual energy and the weird energy emanated by that liquid.
That foreign energy is trying to seep into his body while his own energy is trying to fight it out. And the result... the burning sensation he was feeling. Out of his curiosity, he decided to control and suppress his own spiritual energy to see what is going to happen.
The next moment, he felt like his blood was being burned by some ethereal flame. That pain is bearable for him, but Bloody Chariot is sure that the people with weaker strength wouldn't be able to bear this. Particularly, first graders and some early second graders.
As for Astral Plane cultivators, he believed their arms will die out immediately.
Because, the liquid is penetrating into his skin and is directly making contact with his blood. As if a chemical react his happening, his blood started boiling immediately and that boiling sensation is spread wider.
He injected his spiritual energy, made a small hole and bled out a bit. The blood along with the foreign liquid came out of it.
He took a look at the crystal piece in his hands, it is still dripping with that liquid.
He placed the piece in his storage, before he moved forward with his task. He explored the area by walking slowly. But no matter how far he walked, he couldn't see anything else other than the crystals.
After around half an hour, he finally saw something that made him feel delighted. In front of him is a large bunch of crystal bushes. These bushes are each fifteen to twenty feet long. Each bush opened up like a crown and in the middle of each bush, was an egg shaped energy container.
He could sense that the container was purely made of the energy.
There are dozens of bushes like this. The container on each bush is translucent and inside, he could see something. The image was not clear, but he could have sworn that it is a type of bird puppet.
Bloody Chariot excitedly moved forward, however the next moment he sensed some resistance and instinctually stepped backward.
A translucent screen greeted his eyes. A dome that looked like an onion layer, is in front of him. It covered the whole bunch of crystal bushes and the energy eggs that are locked in. Bloody Chariot walked closer to the barrier and it started vibrating. He frowned at this behavior of the formation.
The closer he got, the more it is vibrating.
The moment he is about to touch the barrier, it gave out a loud vibrating noise. A few images flashed past his eyes. The image of him touching the formation, the image of it vibrating like no other object in existence. The image of the vibrating energy particles slowly turning the translucent barrier turning into a bright curtain of light.
And finally, everything inside the formation and the formation itself destroying and turning into nothing.
Bloody Chariot felt his head go numb as he stepped back. The vibration lessened.
"Why would some set such a weird trap?"
He muttered to himself. He is not ann expert in the formatioins or inscriptions. Better leave it to the pros.
He turned around the formation and continued the exploration. He came across a few more domes like the first one. But every formation gave off the same vibe and same vision. Bloody Chariot is excited but also a bit anxious.
After all, he cannot test anything before his team comes here.
The ones that he could at least check, something in environment, etc.
But the whole environment is nothing but crystals.
After some relentless just before when he decided to go back, but at that moment, he came across something that piqued his interest once again. However this time, the dome is not translucent. It is completely bright and opaque.
He couldn't see what is inside and he is sure that the moment he tried anything, the formation might collapse. So, he decided to back off a bit and decisively took the token to crush it and go back.
The moment he returned back, the elders that participated in decoding the crystal chip are all awaiting his return. Even though most of them initially worked without even knowing what they are working for.
He immediately called for a meeting.
After all the elders that he called gathered in the room, the meeting started.
"As most of you are aware, we managed to decode one of the crystal chips in these puppets. I believed it would just be a waste of time. But on the hindsight it is a great decision for me."
He then paused and showed the images of the crystals.
